Anita brings over fifteen years of dedicated Pilates practice and more than a decade of teaching experience. In 2018, she deepened her expertise by completing the comprehensive 950-hour Advanced Teacher Training program at The Pilates Center of Boulder, studying under esteemed mentors Shelly Ruggiano and Erica Walters at Pilates Fit Studio.
A lifelong learner, Anita has pursued continuous professional development with leading figures in the Pilates community, including Chris Robinson, Alycea Ungaro, Shari Berkowitz, Juan Estrada, Michael Johnson, Christina Gadar, Kathy Ross Nash, and Brooke Siler. This extensive study reflects her commitment to mastering the art and science of Pilates.
Anita’s intellectual rigor is evident in her academic achievements. Originally from Canada, she relocated to the Midwest to study music at the University of Iowa’s Jacobs School of Music. Subsequently, she earned a PhD in Spanish, specializing in Hispanic Literature. Throughout her scholarly pursuits, her unwavering passion for movement as a form of healing and balance has been a central pillar of her life.
This unique intersection informs her teaching philosophy of discipline, artistry, and academic inquiry. Anita approaches Pilates with meticulous attention to detail, tailoring her instruction to each client’s individual needs with patience, precision, and care.
Outside of her professional life, Anita enjoys intellectual and cultural enrichment through annual travels to Canada and Italy with her family. She is also an avid cook and devoted cat owner to her feline companion, Fred.
